Grammar Outs: Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen

nadia_gTrue confessions time. I love watching cooking shows. And Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen is one of my favorites. Something about a hysterically funny, mouthy Italian from New Jersey who cooks in stripper heels as pointed as her wit  just works for me. Who else would do a show called “Break-up Brunches? or post food porn shots on her show’s website?”

My love for this chef-comedienne, her attitude and her irreverent love advice, however, does not extend to her grammar.  “It’s really important that you drain the pasta really good,” she announced  during one show before dressing the noodles.

Really?

Come on.

As I mentioned in the post that launched my Grammar Outs series,  I used to think the French were crazy when years ago they launched a campaign to preserve the purity of the French language. Now I’m tempted to launch a similar campaign here, with the opening salvos aimed at media figures like Nadia G. In the meantime, I will take note and drain my pasta really well.
