One Stop Writing Shop is hitting the road. Flexing my penchant for travel and travel writing, I’ve launched a website called Travels with Linden & Friends. From destination pieces to restaurant reviews, the travel writing and photo essays will provide personal stories and perspectives related to some of our favorite trips.
I use the word “our” rather than “my” because this isn’t just my forum, although I’ve supplied a majority of the initial content. Part of the idea behind TravelswithLinden.com is to give others a travel-related online platform that they can use as a springboard. So you’ll already find three photo essays featuring my niece Julia Gaultier’s photography. Down the line, the list of contributors will definitely grow.
Some of those contributors will likely be travel writer hopefuls. That’s why I added a section called Travel Writing Tips. Sometimes people need help figuring out their craft and developing their voice. And beginners almost always need a platform to give them that critical first clip. Okay, so maybe being published online can’t exactly be called a “clip,” but it’s a start and these days potentially an even better travel writing calling card.
When you visit the Travels with Linden & Friends website, you’ll not only get a taste of locations around the world (along with free advice about how to write about them), you’ll be able to book your flight and your stay.
Either way, the website’s goal is the same: To entice you to get off the couch and out of the house, so that you, too, can share—or share in—an adventure that’s as joyful as it is memorable.
