Books Change Lives

Books Change Lives

A while back, I wrote a post about a T-shirt my client Jim Mazziotti gave me while he was editing his manuscript. As you can see directly below, he wasn’t having the easiest time.

Fast forward. Not only has Jim published his book titled The Challenge: How 144 Letters Changed My Life, the Life of My Son, and Will Change Your Life Too, he’s also come out with an audio version.

The book centers around the daily letters Jim wrote his son after a series of poor choices that could have wrecked the teenager’s life landed him in a youth program. I’ve already recommended it to several friends who are at their wits end because their kids are heading down similarly self-destructive paths.

My excitement about the book’s publication last year was heightened upon receipt of an email from Jim this March. He wrote:

One exciting outcome from the book …is that (long story – short) it landed me an opportunity to meet with the President of The National Guard Youth Foundation (quite by coincidence) when I was in Washington D.C. this past late October. Brigadier General Allyson Solomon (retired) was so impressed that she asked if I would serve on the board for the National Guard Youth Foundation!  It’s a major honor for me…but more importantly…hopefully an opening for me to tell my story and help kids and parents in the 39 states where the program operates.  Exciting stuff.  You are part of that, Linden.

Yup. This is part of why I love working as a writing coach. Kudos to you, Jim!
