Cooking Up a Writing Platform

I just realized that John Nelson, a former writing coach client who’s also one of my favorite chefs, actually launched his website for which I wrote the copy. Kudos to John. He’s doing just what an aspiring author needs to. He’s working on his writing platform in order to develop a following for the cookbook he plans to publish. The fact that John appears as a guest chef on television cooking shows will also help him create a ready-made audience, which is exactly what publishers want these days.

What if you’re the publisher? Nothing better than having a writing platform with readers lined up waiting to get your book hot off the press.

So take a look at John’s website for ideas on what your website—or your writing platform—might look like. And when he’s ready to roll out the cookbook, jump on it. John’s stories about growing up on the Oregon coast, which molded him as a chef, are as unexpected and entertaining as his skookum (Chinook for awesome), Pacific Northwest-inspired food is unexpected and delicious.
