More Hats

Like most freelancers, Linden has worn a variety of writing hats over the years, all with equal confidence and style. Over two decades of writing articles for national magazines and books (including Julia “Butterfly” Hill’s best-seller The Legacy of Luna) have led to her effectiveness in the conceptualization, coordination and drafting of web content, press releases, and catalog and blurb copy.

Over twenty years ago, Linden fell into writing national advertorials (the print equivalent of infomercials). Since then, she has written about everything from diets to cleaning products and from numerology to exercise equipment. Her piece about videos produced for felines is the Cat’s Meow.

Linden’s affable editorial style—coupled with her sound sales instinct and journalistic approach—has led to an unparalleled success record. In a business where one out of ten advertorials is expected to generate significant sales, all five of the most recent advertorials Linden has written have been winners. Indeed, her unparalleled success record has earned her the admittedly unofficial but still flattering “Queen of Advertorials” title. Those same skills contribute to her media release success.

She’s also written collateral material for products ranging from how-to instructions to her own mini-cookbook. In the latter case, she had simply been asked to knock-off a competitor’s collection of recipes by changing a single ingredient in each. The first recipe called for tuna, onion, mayonnaise, celery salt and pepper. The second recipe called for hard boiled eggs, onion, mayonnaise, celery salt and pepper. The third recipe called for cooked chicken, and, yes, onion, mayonnaise, celery salt and pepper. Unable to read any further, let alone amend the piteous recipes, she opted to create her own, and promptly donated the pull-string chopper that the cookbook was to accompany to some friends. A year later, those same chums attended a family reunion where a cousin talked about how the useless pull-string chopper he’d purchased had come packaged with the greatest little cookbook that he used all the time.

"Okay, so call her a perfectionist. That’s fine with Linden, because that’s what sets her apart."
